Actually its easier than you might think. It would be a facebook without images but still a social network. You could make a program that allows you to create a profile on the network and store data on that profile like an “about me” section, or likes etc. chat is a given seeing as people have already done that. A command to write “wall posts” on a profile wouldn’t be that hard either.
And, you could have a floppy with your name&password on it necessary for modifying the walls!

1. the wireless redstone mod isn’t dan’s to mess with
2. Wireless redstone mod isn’t SMP compatitible which kills a lot of usage on multiplayer. Email, chat and all those other programs are messy on multiplayer because all of it has to be wired.
3. It was only the natural progression of things that the computers would go wireless, people shouldn’t have to download the other mod to get the added functionality.
This will allow for much better functionality, set up a few ‘Server’ computers and attach floppy drives to extend storage of each then throw on the wifi expansion and bam you’ve got a network that doesn’t have to be wired all across the server to reach all the other computers that you want on the network.
This will also add new gameplay elements as no doubt people will hack into these in-game servers to do naughty things like spreading viruses. Imagine if there was a trade block that worked with computercraft where you insert an item you wanted to sell and it stored the item in a chest then sent a message to the computer that a “transaction” had been made and put virtual credits in your account on the network. And you could use the same block to buy stuff from by typing in the computer the item you wanted to buy from the store the ammount and then it subtracted from your bank on the server and delivered the item to the block where you could retrieve it. Additionally people could hack the program with enough experience and steal funds or any other mischief with it.
Even better yet imagine that in a faction based server. Faction’s hackers try to hack into enemy networks and steal their money or corrupt their systems causing damage to any automated systems on the network like say a floodgate, trap systems etc.
possibilities are endless, I could go on all day
Love the idea of virtual credits. Also i would like a way that it knows what block.
Wireless redstone by Ali4z is SMP. My server had used it. The problem is the lack of being able to connect to a bundled cable. I like the idea of the credits too.

if its wifi like it obviously is then yes but probably not in the way you are thinking. It looks like the block is a computer attachment not a stand-alone. You would have to attach it to a computer then send the signal through one computer to the other to transmit the signal.
I’m not 100% certain but I think it could work 1 of 2 ways:
First way would be the computer transmits a redstone signal binary to the wifi adapter then the adapter relays it to all other adapters on the same frequency. The computers they are attached to then recieve the signal from the adapters and translate the binary back into LUA.
The second way would be that the adapters are mostly just for show and that they just enable added functionality in the mod, basically what would really happen was the mod would check for an adapter and if there was one it would allow the computer to send LUA directly from one computer with adapter to another without converting to binary.
Most likely it will be the former rather than the latter though I would think.

You should make Mini Computers (PDA) that is text-based! It could run computer apps, but you wouldn’t be able to access redstone. Plus, your adding wifi to it. Users could make wireless access points with encryption that can access redstone FROM a PDA! And it would be awesome because you don’t have to place the PDA down!

I love this mod, the addition of wifi will be damned handy though. I’ve just been trying to set a full computer system up on a ship I built, problem being that I didn’t know about the mod when the ship was built and hiding the cables is hard.
