ComputerCraft 1.55

Advanced Turtles are Advanced!

ComputerCraft requires Minecraft version 1.6.2 with an up to date version of Minecraft Forge installed. Once you have Forge, drop into your /mods/ directory, and launch Minecraft.

New Features:

  • Ported to Minecraft 1.6.2
  • Added Advanced Turtles
  • Added “turtle_inventory” event. Fires when any change is made to the inventory of a turtle
  • Added missing functions io.close, io.flush, io.input, io.lines, io.output
  • Tweaked the screen colours used by Advanced Computers, Monitors and Turtles
  • Added several new features for Peripheral authors
  • Lua programs can now be included in Resource Packs. Tutorial here

Enjoy! The new features in this version are mostly behind the scenes, but they were really fun to work on. Once again, thanks to everyone who helped with Beta Testing. Happy Hacking!

  1. Completly awesome as usual! 🙂
I really like to have advanced turtles and also those io functions,
Keep up the good work :3

  2. Yes, Now we don’t have to paste-bin every time you want to use a program!

  3. can you add a function to where turtles could interact with command blocks?
thank you for porting and the advanced turtles!

  4. could you make a function to print ( as in printer ) using the printer so I dont have to go to the editing program?

  5. could you check out hoppers and printers and papers
and turtles dropping paper into printers?

  6. Tablets would be interesting… Remote control of your base, using rednet. Someone would make an iOS, and that would be pretty cool

      • There would have to be an Ihome peripheral connected to a computer that it could dock to.
Also, new event: buttonPress with the argument button, which could be bottom, sideUp, sideDown, and top. The buttons would be a part of the tablet’s GUI.

  7. At first I was like, hmm a small update for 1.6.2… then while reading every point… I really want to use it all lol, great work on this mod! I’ll definitely do a donation once I have money 😛

  8. Hey I do not know if it is a glitch specific to me or there is a bug with the update but my melee turtle only does half heart of damage rather than 5 hearts.

    please help me

    • and if this isnt the place for questions could someone tell me where that is

  9. it just comes up with not installed propley

I am running minecraft 1.6.2 and have used it before I have 2 mods

  10. Is it possible there can be an even where a player walks over an advanced monitor that faces up? so like a floor where it does special events when on a certain block?

  11. For some reason I can’t save any programs, I just get the message “Error saving to [blank].” I opted to have the launcher stay open when I play the game, nothing comes up about an error saving a file. I do notice though that it makes a point of vomiting out something about texture errors, even though all the textures work fine.
