Hey everybody, it’s update time! This one brings a handful of bug fixes reported by our beta testers, and some new cosmetic features you’ll be dyeing to try out:

Downloads:

ComputerCraft 1.63 requires Minecraft version 1.6.4 with an up to date version of Minecraft Forge installed. Once you have Forge, drop the files into your /mods/ directory, and launch Minecraft.

Changelog:

  • Turtles can now be painted with dyes, and cleaned with water buckets
  • Added a new game: Redirection – ComputerCraft Edition (type “redirection” on an Advanced Computer to play)
  • Turtle label nameplates now only show when the Turtle is moused-over
  • The HTTP API is now enabled by default, and can be configured with a whitelist of permitted domains
  • http.get() and http.post() now accept parameters to control the request headers
  • New fs function: fs.getDir( path )
  • Fixed some bugs

Thanks a lot to everyone who helped beta test this release and report bugs. The huge refactoring in 1.6 was a rocky road in terms of bugs, but I think we’re pretty steady now. See you after the Minecraft 1.7 port!

  2. Just thought i’d say. Amazing work with computer craft! any plans on the update to 1.7.2? (sorry if you posted things and i havn’t seend them. I dont have a twitter or anything in that matter) but keep it up!

  7. Is there any way to check which servers are white listed? if not it just says “domain not permitted” and the program crashes, so i can’t display a massage like “please add myserver to white list”

  8. If you have the time can you try to make it work with the miscperipherals mod again. I think the issue is because CC is now a .jar preventing miscperipherals from finding certain files it needs to work

    • The API was massively changed in CC1.6, and MiscPeripherals uses the old API.

  9. Fascinating. I will work on the automaton program for turtles tonight for sure, so I will have something cool to tell my friends that I have done. I struggle with sprite management,so I will try to avoid writing color games for right now.How hard is the 1.7 update? I mean almost all methods were rewritten, and re-coding the mod from scratch was most likely avoided due to this mod`s update 1.6. Also what new features can I expect from the awesome dan200?

The Command Block (API) does not return a true / false value when running a command, I think it this could be implemented, just like a testfor command in a command block will return true or false in redstone signal form through a comparator, running the command you’ve set in the command block will also return a true / false value.

    So you could possibly do something like:
    if cmdblock.runCommand() then print(“true”) end

  11. It would be wiser to have CommandBlock.runCommand() simply return true or false after it is ran. For example: Assume command is a variable.
    function CommandBlock.runCommand()
    ——–Part of the code execution most likely
    if (type(command) == “string”) and (command == commandtable.command) then
    return true
    else
    return false
    end

    • You don’t understand what I meant was analog output, a comparator doesn’t only return wether a command was successful or not, the testfor command can test if a conditional value is true inside a selector, which is something not related to a command being successful or not. You do not know much about comparators working with command blocks and the testfor command, unless I deeply misunderstood you.
