As for the gnome one, The 3rd one sees two diffrent hats so stands on his own, the 1st gnome has the same hat as the 3rd and as he can see the gnome next to him is green goes over to the 3rd gnome, this repeats until the last one is left alone.

That is most likly wrong lol
Wrong indeed, does the first gnome goover to the third, or should the second one go instead? Who knows..
You are thinking in the right way though, something important happens when a gnome comes out of the cave and sees two different colours hats..
What should he do so that the next gnome knows where to stand?

Joe wants to get a hair cut without leaving town. There are two barbers in town. One is Bill, one is Bob. Bill has nice hair, a nice, clean barber shop, and clean clothes. Bob has ugly cut hair, a messy shop as if it hasnt been sweeped in ages, and unwashed barbers clothes. Where should Joe go to get his hair cut if he wants it to be nice?

That was a pain typing on an iPod ._.
He should go with Bob, since he is the one who cut Bill's hair (and did a good job apparently :P).
Maybe Bill took the time to go out of town to get his hair cut though ;) Flawed riddle but still good.

I have two 'riddles':

What doesn't weigh anything but can make a ship sink?

In the morning it has four legs, in the afternoon it has two and in the evening it has three. What is it?

Your driving a bus, at the first stop 10 people get on.
At the second stop 3 people get off and 5 people get on.
At the 3rd stop five people get on and two people get off.
At the forth stop 1 person gets on and 3 people get off.
Whats the name of the bus driver?

Dafuq?
Sounds like those math questions like this:

Jim has 10 marbles. John gives Jim 3 more marbles.
How many marbles does Bob have?

1. A hole :P
2. Ugh I heard that one before but i cant remember.. I think it had something to do with clocks or people...

Riddle:
You are in a room with an infinite number of candles and an everlasting fire. Each candle burns for exactly one hour, but they do not burn evenly (the first half may burn up in 5 minutes, and the other half in 55 minutes). You may not pulverize the candles.
You want to measure how long 45 minutes are, how do you do this?

this is the Spinx riddle. the answer is man. four legs (hands and knees) as a child (in the morning), 2 during adolescence/adulthood (in the afternoon), and 3 during old age-- a cane (at night).

Before this thread dies very prematurely let me revive this with one of my favorite riddles. The person who can solve this without using the internet for help (it is frowned upon) gets a special place of honour in the OP.

Riddle:
Once upon a time in a fantastic world, there was a giant who hated gnomes. He lived deep underground in a cave and was asleep for most of the time.
Abovegrounds, there lived two gnome clans, the green-hats and the red-hats. Not very surprisingly, one clan always wears green hats and the other always wears red hats....
The way these two clans live together it very strange. They dont have deep affection for the other clan but they don't hate each other either. From time to time, two gnomes from different clans decide to exchange hats and live with the other clan; This is considered normal.

All was well untill the gnomes decided to venture into the giant's cave, greedy for riches and glory. This went horribly wrong however, when the giant woke from his slumber and captured all the gnomes.
The giant decided to have some fun with the gnomes before eating them, sadistic that he was. He took all the hats off the gnomes, shuffeled them, and put them back on at random, so no gnome knew what color hat he wore. He then told the gnomes to step out of the cave one by one, and to group up: green hats on one side, red hats on the other. He also stated that any kind of communication, verbal or non-verbal, is forbidden. (remember the gnomes do not know the color of their own hat)
The gnomes, witty as they were, managed to do what the giant said. They all grouped up, red hats on one side and green hats on the other, except for the poor last gnome, who didn't know where to go. All lived but one who saved the lives of two.

So how did the gnomes do this? Feel free to ask questions if anything needs clarification. I will tell if a given answer is right or wrong. Good luck :3

Gnome 1 walks out and stands in the open, gnome 2 walks out and stands next to him, gnome 3 walks out and IF the 2 gnomes outside are wearing the same hat he stands next to them, if they are wearing different color hats he stands between them. then when the next gnome walks out he would see 2 gnomes of one color and 1 gnome on the side of another color, he simply stands between the 2 groups.

as long as you stand in between the 2 groups you will be safe and then the line between the groups will move

I think the last gnome would have to separate the groups but he would not know which to join

cut one candle in half and light both ends, also light one end of a normal candle. the double lit one will burn out in half an hour, the normal stick will have only half an hour of burning left. when the first candle burns out light the other end of the normal candle and it will burn for another 15 minutes. giving you a total of 45 minutes

HAH NO GOOGLE FOR EITHER ONE

If you really did not use google for either one of those, you sir are a genius :D
I've got one riddle however that is harder then those two combined.. I have not been able to solve it myself, but maybe you are...
The answer is on google, but if you look it up please don't post the answer here.. Only post the answer if you came up with it yourself.

Riddle:
On an island there are 100 blue-eyed and 100 brown-eyed people. There is also one grey-eyed guru, who is blind.
The people on the island are purely logical, if there is a conclusion to be drawn from something, they do so instantly.
The people do not know the colour of their own eyes, but they keep track of the colours of every other person's eyes.
There is no way of communication on the island, nor are there any reflective objects.
Every day, one minute before midnight, every islander who knows the colour of his eyes magically vanishes from the island.
On day 1 the guru speaks to all islanders: "I can see blue eyes"
How many people vanish on which night? When is everyone gone (not counting the guru)?

I'm just a logical math nut :) that riddle doesn't make much sense though...

"every islander who knows the colour of his eyes" do you mean his own eyes or the guru's eyes. I assume you mean his own as they can all see the guru's eyes

if there is no way of communication on the island how does the guru speak to the islanders? and even if he could you could just check the eye color of your parents. if both have blue eyes then you have blue eyes, if not then you have brown eyes (I think. can't quite remember how those genes work)

Yes, the islanders have to know their own eye colour. the guru is the only exception to the rule of no communication.
And the answer is not a trick. So no genes are involved, its purely logical.
I will give you one (huge) hint though. Scale down to extremeties, then work up
