As it stands, printers aren't very useful other than writing your own computercraft related fan-fiction in an inconvenient format. What I thought would be interesting is a way to pin pages on wall much like signs. Now the important difference here is that they would be easily mass produced and maintain their message. Furthermore it would be awesome if turtles were able to place these paper messages up on the wall. That's just my idea, because honestly, can't think of much more to do with a printer.

I kind of agree with this about being able to 'pin' up pages. however I think that a mechanism that is already available should be used... item frames...

Can we display paper in item frames? I've been meaning to test it out but I never got around to.

I checked. Nope. thats why I made that suggestion, else my reply would have gone a little something like this "We can already do this... put the printed page in an item frame..."

I do agree that printed pages don't have very much use in Minecraft. It would be nice to see this little feature expanded in some way or another.

Nope. I think Item Frames would be better, and easier for the devs to implement imo.

Item Frames looks badly. Hangable Maps mod shows much better way.

I think at the very least, we should be able to do something else with printed pages and books. Even being able to read information from printed pages, such as an added function with turtles or a new peripheral would be nice.

I'm not a fan of peripherals. I don't like having to install some of these things just because it makes all of it seem too crowded. But printed pages just seems like a dead end addon to ComputerCraft vanilla. I just would like to see more functionality added with them.

(this is an old thread, but I want to bump it)
It is a good idea, and here is an alternative if it is too hard to implement:
allow people to put a map in the printer, and print text on that.
