Breaking news from #technic, courtesy of KakerMix, rednet is no longer called rednet and nobody ever called it rednet to begin with. Yep, you heard it here first! Thanks Technic crew for enlightening us silly CC users about our own mod.

Spoiler

I'd suggest you direct them to the ComputerCraft 1.2 section of this table. It's always been called Rednet, since at least 18th of November 2011.

They kept quoting the part of the wiki about how the rednet API is deprecated. Because apparently that completely changes the name.

Deprecation isn't renaming.

I've already given my last 'wat' today.

By their logic, deprecating the rednet API and replacing it with the Modem API is the equivalent of renaming it, and anybody who thinks otherwise will be violently attacked (Oh wait, they do that to everyone).

And this is why all the Technic people need to be brutally murdered. (no exaduration, they are complete dim wits)

Why would you state something like this without logs?

I don't know what life would be without Lochie's image responses.

Anyway, how is Technic/Tekkit still relevant? There has never been a need—nor will there ever be—for modpacks, but Feed the Beast should have forced Technic down the drain months ago.

I'm not sure - but I think some people can't tell what's actually going on. If you think about it, there's not actually any deprecation going on - there's just a lower-level to the existing Rednet API. I still don't understand this "herp derp it was never called rednet!" stuff.

A) Logs can be fabricated, B) I was using webchat at the time and didn't think to copy/paste a half of hour of me being insulted. Besides, just go ask kaker, he loves recounting the story of how he defeated the horrible D3Matt. No logs needed.
