Because that seems to have been locked prematurely, with almost no discussion.

To load a program onto a turtle with no screen:
* Create a file on a disk called "startup"
* Put the disk in a drive next to the turtle.
* Turn on the turtle.

To be honest I don't see any point in a screenless turtle. Lock stays.

Because you are too lazy to push esc? That is really the only thing this would do.

Same as turning fuel off makes turtles slightly easier to use, disabling turtle screens would make them slightly harder to use.

Without any knowledge on how to code in CC-Lua, turtles are already hard to use, to only thing that lets new players use them is the built in programs. I see no point in this, if you don't want a screen put a sticky note or something over the turtles screen on your screen were it will be.

The point is that it should be optional. A config option that, by default, is false.

I personally like the idea.

You can optionally not rightclick on turtles and/or put a program on them that just only shows a black screen then :3
The latter should be a pretty simple ROM/BIOS edit

Server admins can't enforce sticky notes on peoples' screens.

The BIOS edit suggested would do what I'm thinking of.

Yeah a BIOS edit is what I started thinking of when my topic was locked.

I just kinda thought of it because the turtle robot that turtles were inspired by have no screens to put in code. (edit: And to prove a point.)
