How to print text without it making it white behind it?(on a npaintpro image)

So,as you know I am working on xeno,and also a program for it.It does use a npaintpro painted image in the back,but when I want to lay down the text,it will turn white behind it and I really dont want that to happen.....Anything that can prevent that from doing that?(I think I did it once,but I forgot.....)

Set the background colour:
term.setBackgroundColour( colours[colour string here] )
