My suggestion is quite simple.. Adding desktops with drawers to the mod.
Since that would be a nice decorative block to have the computer on and
it would kinda also act as an chest since it has drawers so it would be a good place to keep floppy disks and modems etc.
And they would be two blocks wide and one block high..

And they could have a simple look like this or something

me too, what about that you are able to connect cables and modems through it while the computer is sitting on the drawer and that you don`t see the cables and modems while they are connected?

But this could have special computer support :P. For example, the cabinet could act as a disk drive for all of the floppy disks inside of it.

Nah. Third party mods handle furniture way better than we would.
