I don't know why or how it happened or even how to recreate it, but I set up a computer with a wireless modem for use in creating an elevator. Later I set up another computer with a wireless modem for another floor, and while setting up the wiring I turned on the computer and saw the elevator program was already running. I hadn't even turned it on before this, so I was a little confused. I used CTRL + T to terminate the program and then used the ID to check the ID of the computer.

I've got 3 advanced computers set up with wireless modems. Two of which are using the same ID. I don't know how this came about or how to fix it short of breaking the computer and trying to place it again.

Is there some other way to fix it or change a computer's ID?

Why am I always having to elaborate for you guys???

Anyway, if you are in creative, and break a computer that has already been placed, and an ID assigned to it by powering it on, after labelling it, the computer dropped will stay in your inventory. You would be able to place multiple computers with the same label/ID while in creative. This of course does not work in survival.
