Hello,

I know nothing about Java (or much about any language, either) and am looking for information to start programming in Java, and eventually making peripherals and turtle upgrades. If you know of a great resource, I'd love to hear about it. If you have a peripheral suggestion, I'll take them but might not make them. If I do use your suggestion I will credit you.

If you know nothing about Java I strongly suggest you learn that before even thinking about making a peripheral.

Here are some basic resources to get you started:
http://docs.oracle.c.../tutorial/java/
http://docs.oracle.c...ase/7/docs/api/

And do you can write a peripheral without knowing Java or Forge?
No, you can't. Although I've seen a Lua wrapper for modding Minecraft somewhere but that was a long while ago meaning it might be outdated and it probably wouldn't even support the ComputerCraft API anyway. And even if you did get it working, having learned Java would probably have been the easier solution.

I know what I'm doing now. I picked up Java quite quickly, but modding Minecraft specifically had my mind running around in circles. Thanks for the help, but I know what I'm doing. (I made this in November ;))

Yeah, I don't do much modding because I spend more time being ticked off at all the dumb aspects like there being 5 different ways to register textures but none that work well rather than enjoying myself.

Yeah. I wish Mojang would hurry up with that supposed modding API...

Once they release this, I'll actually be able to mod stuff.
Same issue with me. I just get frustrated with it and quit.
