I had an idea to setup a link shortener for the ComputerCraft forums community, I wanted to ask the community for feedback before hand and possible domain suggestions. :)

Why would one need a link shorterer?

yeah about that... I guess it is a bit redundant and pointless.

Would be good when you link to forum posts, because, http://www.computerc...__fromsearch__1 is very long :D

Link shorteners are not allowed on the forums, generally. When linking to the forums elsewhere, please abide by the rules (if any) of that medium in regard to shortened links. I don't think the ComputerCraft website needs a dedicated service to shorten links to it, if that's what you're suggesting.

If you need a link shortened, you can always just do it in the post. Like so. The link is still in its long format, but doesn't take up a bunch of space on the post. However, by default, links are automatically shortened in this way with links pasted into the editor.

I don't think there's any reason to use a link shortening service for this purpose.
