Is there a method I can use to place items into a specific spot in an inventory? (nuclear reactor)
I know of the turtle.drop(side) function but that's beside the point.

ComputerCraft itself doesn't offer such a method, but OpenPeripheral might: Try running "openp/docs <side>" while the turtle is next to the inventory, see if you've got access to "pullItemToSlot" or some such thing.

You can do it within the turtles inventory but other than that don't think you can.
