"So Arcum, what brought you to our group?" asks Matthias, who is trying to change the subject from Arcum's metal.

[OOC]@Lupus: in my case, its mainly because I don't want to post too many times in a row, I like to have at least two other people between my comments in most cases[/OOC]

"Matthias may have meant: 'what caused the injury?' or 'What were you doing before you found us.' " Kor interprets.

[OOC] @KnightMiner, similar with me. But that may be more due to me being GM and not (truly) having a character for myself. [/OOC]

"Both" he says "I was wondering what caused the injury, and what brought him to where we were. Did he find similar clues leading him to us?"

"I was running from the undead after they took over my home village, my father gave me a note bundled with a golden string and told me to only open it when I was in danger, besides from that I had an arrow in my knee and before I left I meant to grab my bow, but instead it was my old quiver which had barely any arrows in it." Arcum said.

[ooc]
Dang, Marxis, didnt know that your character had anger issues xD

[OOC]
Its part of Maxris's lore. He dislikes 'mortals' as he firmly believes that they are responsible for the destruction of the Ancients.

"Apparently not. Let me see if I can connect with the Ancient nodes, maybe figure how widespread this is."
It attempts to connect to the Ancient Network.

The signal is very distant, which is strange as the communication nodes were practically everywhere before your coma protocol was activated. You angle yourself so that your transceiver faces south-west, maximising the available signal.

Several thousand years of various automation reports request inspection among long expired warnings. Ignoring most of them, you justify to yourself that "they've lasted this long without sentient support, they'll survive a few more terra-cycles." Accessing just the exploratory and combat reports, looking for any reference to decayed persons, disturbed graves, and other key phrases. No results. You decide to query the wider network but get no response, more of the communication nodes must be unavailable than you originally thought.

It thinks to itself.
"Hmm, how long have I been out... Communication nodes used to be worldwide, now they are... scarce..."
it then exits its thoughts.
"I can't find anything, seems I been out longer than I thought..."
It thinks for a sec.
"Who here is trained in the arts of magic?"

The goblins point to Pulse, Henry and - hesitantly - at Matthias.

"i don't, sadly, but if we found another orb or something that glows, it might have the power. or something useless, like marshmallow guns. well, a marshmallow gun would be quite useful."
Henry starts to examine the area.

"My magic is limited to the Firestone, which really can only detect if it's empty," Matthias says "but I do know someone in Vingara who might be able to help."

[OOC] Map updated, I've retconed the tower ruin to a more sensible location in relation to where the wolves took you out of the forest. [/OOC]

Vingara is still several hours away as the sun touches the western mountains. If you keep going then you predict that you will arrive at about one hour past midnight. But the roads are more dangerous while dark, more so with the undead now.

If you make camp then you will be able to rest, leaving at dawn means that you'll get to Vingara at noon. But camping has it's own dangers, fire can scare away most hungry animals but attracts bandits. However having no fire exposes you to the cold air of the night, but will allow you more rest from not needing to get wood. You could organise turns for taking watch, staying up at night can be difficult though and reduces your sleep, however watchmen have saved lives before.

While you are all in thought, your bellies grumble lightly. Now may be a good time for supper and cooked meals always seem better.

[OOC] It's been a while since lightmystic has been on the forums so: [/OOC]
Pulse opens a portal and prepares to depart. "Sorry guys, my deadpulses are getting worse." He looks at the confused expressions. "They're like a very bad headache. They make it hard to see, hear and move, and impossible to do so when they get worse. I've found that going home helps. Farewell, and don't have too many adventures without me."

He steps into the portal and stops partway. "I'll try to find you guys again once I'm better." He leaves and the portal closes behind him.

"Since it's likely that this group hasn't brought many provisions, I should see about getting some dinner. I can see in the dark with my special eye, and I can try to hunt some game for us to eat. I should be back in about an hour or two with some food."

"Alright, I shall keep watch, since I do not need sleep like the rest of you.
I will use 50% of my power to recharge, while I divert the rest to detection. It should help me last longer if not recharge me a little bit."

The goblins wander into the forest to gather firewood. They return several times, dropping armfuls of sticks and logs before venturing back for more. "Need enough for night." Kurk remarks.

Matthias moves some of the sticks and logs into a pile, then lights it using a little fire from his axe. "Hopefully this will be big enough to cook whatever Nico finds." he says.
