Stuck in bed with a cold today. Well, when people aren't dragging me out of it. Arg.

I'm probably not the greatest pixel artist in the world, but I doubled up the resolution of CC1.76's new character set and went through smoothing off the edges. This was for RecGif, but it occurred to me I could probably get the actual computers to use it too, via a resource pack; turns out that's easy enough.

To use it, download this archive (for CC 1.76 to 1.78) or this one (for CC 1.79 onwards) into your Minecraft installation's "resourcepacks" folder. You can then enable it via Resource Packs in Minecraft's Options menu.

By looking at the GIF I can already tell that this is going to be awesome, now I just need to install it.

What do you mean "the computers could use it too"

This looks really nice! I'll try it out when I get home.

He means that while it wasn't originally designed for use in the mod itself, he realized it would be possible and turned it into a resource pack.

I get it. Well, it is useful. This also means we could replace the letters with smileys?

Well yes you could, but why would you want to? :P

Not only that, but you could change the entire font to whatever you wanted. You could, for example, distribute a resource pack alongside a script for the purpose of turning otherwise lesser-used text characters into art such as people, space ships, or whatever. Now that CC has its own separate font data, enabling such a pack wouldn't screw up the text used by the rest of Minecraft.

Just a heads up: this resource pack will need to be updated for CC 1.79 (currently in beta), the terminal font texture was switched to a power-of-two size to fix incompatibility with older GPUs.

Hey, do you think you could put this typeface into a TTF font file? I'm trying to have my Konsole look like a computercraft terminal!

Hey, CC 1.8 (current source code) broke this again - renaming termFont.png to term_font.png should do the trick.

Ah, my bad.

On a different note, is it alright if I distribute the font with CCEmuX? I didn't see a license or copyright notice anywhere.

Just found out that Dropbox has likewise been planning to mess up links across the web for some time now. Final deadline is the first of next month. Should be a fun time.
