I'm playing tekkit wich has an older version of cc that doesn't have the turtle.inspect() method so i can't use that to know when the crop is ready from CC itself. So i'm searching for new ways to achieve this. i've tryied using bud signals but crops sometimes skip a stage and messes me up. any ideas?
Sorry for my bad english. i'm a spanish speaker

My preferred method is to just plant a decent-sized area (say about 16x16), then have the turtle harvest that every hour. 95%+ has grown by then so there's little wastage.
If you constantly have the turtle moving around the field checking growth stages, yeah you'll harvest up to something like 30% faster, but you'll waste a lot of coal in exchange. You only need so much wheat.
