If you're open to having me as a judge I wouldn't mind joining the panel, if you don't want anymore though it's fine.
Sounds good! I've updated the OP to reflect this.

The top 3 programs will receive medals - either gold, silver, or bronze.

Can you elaborate on what these medals are?

If I recall correctly, I feel like last time we also wanted to give a member title to the winner, can't remember if that was disagreed or agreed with though. Might be worth asking Lyqyd.

The medals are awards given to the top submissions - you can see some on last year's results. They're just awards, but prestigious ones.

As for member titles, I'm not sure if any consensus was made in public. They've been speculated on since 2013, but I haven't been able to find any posts by forum officials giving the thumbs up or down. That would be cool though, given that the winners of some forum games get titles.

I've PM'd this answer to two different people for previous CCJam events:

Lyqyd, on 24 March 2015 - 09:59 PM, said:

Most likely not. If a member title were to be a prize, it would only be for something run by CC-forums staff members, sorry. This requirement is so there is a clear-cut criterion for what kind of competition can award forum-based prizes. Otherwise, anyone could run any sort of competition, no matter how well or poorly organized/run/judged and could expect to be able to give away such prizes. If you can get some of the moderatorial staff to agree to run the event, it may be possible to make it an official competition and such prizes could be possible.

Are we allowed to set the repo up with something like Howl beforehand?

Good to see it in writing. Maybe we can arrange something like that in the distant future.

Yes, you can use any API or utility released to the public on or before June 12, 2016.

Well, I'll join. But I have a question: can I program any general purpose APIs before the starting date? (Example: graphics, encrypt...)

EDIT: I forgot the link: https://github.com/manu-03/CCJam2016

No, according to the OP.

I think I heard that you can write a mod for this? If so I'm in! If not, I'll probably compete anyway.

Repo here

If it's related to CC, I suppose it would count, but you'll have to ask OP.

Yes!, peripheral mods and such are just fine as long as they are explicitly ComputerCraft-related (and if they're made exclusively during the CCJam period, starting June 24).

I think he meant that you can CREATE mods as your CCJam entry as long as they're CC-related. I'm not sure about USING other mods, but I'd imagine it's OK. Wait for him to confirm though.

Is it okay if people use my program 'PAIN' for pictures in their projects? It was updated today, but created a while ago.

You can use other mods as long as they were released to the public before this thread was created

Technically yes, if the version last released to the public when this thread was created is used instead

You both could have a look through idea exchange for ideas (funny that). Also I kinda want someone to make a game called "sans sheriff" just for the pun factor.

Ik about it but i need a idea that is helpful (not things like QR code readers. See no point of it ;p) and something that hasnt been done before

(I was going to do a webbrowser that supports http from other sites, DNS's like the krist server and that can also use rednet hosted webservers and have support for adding other dns's, plugins and markup languages) But its been already done (i think)
