If there are any moderators reading this, or anyone in general who knows these forums well, could someone tell us all a few basic things about using these forums, other than conduct?

My real question though is, what is reputation? How does one earn it? I've been curious about this for a while. For instance, Advert, a moderator on these forums, credited with over a 100,000 posts, "only" has 47. I have recently earned 1 point, and I have no idea how I did it. Does it do anything, or is it just pride?

One more, if I can: How can I change my title from "Clueless" to something that makes me sound like I have any skill at all?

I don't mean to flood the forums, but this sort of information seems hard to find. This is the first forum I have actively taken part in, in fact, so I am a newb. (or newbie, n00b, noob, or FNG, depending on one's taste.)

Thank you,
--Lettuce

Reputation is the little up arrow on the bottom right hand corner of your post. If people think you were helpful or you're post is good they can click the arrow and add +1 to your rep. It's not really used for anything.

The title "Clueless" is due to the number of post you have made, it will change as you make more post. It has nothing to do with your skill what so ever.

EDIT: Please don't make a bunch of useless post just to change your title..

Some titles you see on some members are custom set by a moderator, either by request or just by any given reason.

Such as "Part-Time Ninja?" Oh, I just noticed, you ARE a moderator. Thanks a lot guys! And no, luanub, I'm not like that. I post to help people, and thank people when they help me.
