Are computer id's static?

In other words, can a labeled computer's id ever change, even if you break it and replace it multiple times? What about if I craft it into a turtle, etc?

I was thinking of using encryption by computer id as a form of copy protection, but I need to be absolutely sure this is safe before I risk selling other players my software :)/>

for labeled computers, yes, id is static. unlabeled computers get a new one every time they're placed. Not positive, but on my local games at least, never seen an old id folder get deleted, but I may just not have enough to trigger some clean-up threshold in the plugin or something, so can't say for sure if old ids are ever recycled, but I'd guess not.

Labled computers are static. However, unlabled computers will lose all of the programs you have.
