When you use http for some reason or another a admin may not want someone to access this site with http.
Or maybe they want http only used for one purpose?

Which is why I propose a http whitelist/blacklist.

A way to give server owners control while still feeling safe from bla bla site.

For instance. They dont want to be part of some ad.fly but do want to allow users to use http.
Or they only want users to use pastebin not any of the other sites

In short.
Control what sites ComputerCraft can go to.

This is something that server admins could do lua side by creating their own http API that overrides the in built one. I don't think it would be worth the effort to implement as most server owners won't care.

In my opinion though server owners who care about the server would worry about abuse.
http in theory could rack up quite a $$ bill

I'd probably just firewall the server if I was going to run a whitelist.

A blacklist would be useless.

Actually most server owners do care about this, i think it should be an option or just to limit it to pastebin or something.

bump for the need of this!

Just make proper use of your (if you're the server owner) firewall if you care about this...

Umm, don't know why this suggestion has been resurrected... As it's not going to be added, I don't see any further useful discussion on this subject. Locked.
