Ok, I searched and found nothing of the sort.

It would be cool if a computer (specifically turtles as they have the advantage of mobility) could read the text off of a sign and then store in a definable variable.

Im not sure it would be possible. I guess it depends on whether the text on the sign is stored anywhere.

All is possible, but it seems Dan200 want his turtles to be blind.
Can you make robot to read signs?

Turtles can recieve wireless signels if they have a modem. So they don't need to be able to read signs (which is probably a bit of an unrealistic ability anyway).
