Well, Android is coded in java and uses java for it's programs, so I do believe PE is in java :o/>
On iOS it's another story as that uses xCode.

If you want to make mods for PE you need to keep releasing .apk files and it's also illegal because you have to pay for MC-PE.

Android is actually coded in C. You can have Native apps on android, and I'm pretty sure it is a native app.

PE also is packet editor...
Saw that maplestory sig.

@Cloudy
I researched but the app is in Java, at least it mostly is.
You can add mods but not easily and how would you even get them to work? Loading in the .jar?
I don't think so. Android and Apple software always have java on them so people can make apps.

One last question.
Why would you get an android phone? They load slow, harder to parse in the editors, and Java is the slowest performance on it anyways.

What else would you get besides Android? A slow, out of date, overpriced iPhone that doesn't even have 4g speeds?

IPhone 5 will have 4g and stronger battery (in December when released).
The IPhone is probably the best with updating and the quality makes it just worth the price.

And when it does, the others will have something better. I've had a couple iPhones, just replaced them with a Samsung Galaxy S2, best move I ever made. Its so much a better phone(in every aspect). I will NEVER get an iPhone again, they are way over priced for what you are getting compared to what you could be getting.

I don't think you'll be able to make mods for MC-PE since it's coded in C++ and Objective-C
See for yourself:http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Pocket_Edition

And for anyone wanting to buy PE...DON'T! It's really boring. It's like the old MC-Creative.
