#25226 Logistics Pipes

This is on the to-do list for arp. However, logistic pipes needs buildcraft 3.x, which is not yet smp-compatible, which is why I still use BC 2.x. But as soon as it gets there...
We have it installed on our server and i think it is one of the best mods. we also have CC 1.4. and i'm building a massive warehouse based off of it. It will craft anything and everything. as well as store every item in the game. So using CC to help manage it would be amazing!

It would be cool if you could make it so that is an API so that CC and Logistics pipes can talk. The mod logistical pipes is located HERE if you don't know what i'm talking about. But It is one of the best mods ever. And if CC could make requests and interact with it that would be awesome.

I see you need help. I recomend you go visit the wiki first. Everything in computercraft is ran using lua. If you want to know CC then get familiar with Lua. It won't take too long. And we're all here to help.

#23389 Powered Computers

I think it would be cool if you could work with the developer of IC2 and make it so that computers use IC2 Power. Also make it so that you can turn that feature on and off. (just like the http api).

Thanks if you'd like to play. Also: This is not Tekkit. I hate tekkit and everything about it.
And I hate tekkit haters. Sorry.
Well your loss.

View PostRsstn, on 03 August 2012 - 06:27 PM, said:

What's wrong with Tekkit? It's got pretty much the same mods as you have listed, but anyone can play, as there is no installation/file sharing.
Tekkit uses mods without permission. And Tekkit's community is just a bunch of whiney 12 year olds that spam the chat asking what everything does. It's just a big mess. It was a good concept but had a bad outcome.
It doesn't have every mod I have... It doesn't have buildcraft 3, logistics pipes, or even forestry.

First off... The WIKI is your FRIEND!!! I love the Wiki.
Also Get familiar with the APIs
If it were me I would go all our on these APIs: fs, rednet, table.
I Would also end up making a server for these. But first you will mostlikely want to use the fs api. It is a file editor. Also in the table api you can store stuff in tables. (du). and the rednet api is mainly for the server.

#22764 Edit programs in Notepad in Multiplayer?

Posted by tfoote on 30 July 2012 - 05:14 PM in Ask a Pro

If you look at my post a while back. there is a program where you can have file control of a floppy folder. You would have to talk to you server person to have it installed though...

And the post is a different thread

design it like a wearhouse. in a wearhouse each piece has an ID. then using this ID you can get all the info. Its basically just using tables!

Edit: Im working on something similar. Happy Coding

#21479 IF you have a server CLICK on this post! It will solve many problems

Posted by tfoote on 26 July 2012 - 05:26 AM in General

It isn't a new server program. it is an upload, download program. It makes it so that those folders can be accesed. It hardly uses up any of my ram or cpu. And if it does, upgrade them. And minecraft servers should be beefy anyway

#21430 IF you have a server CLICK on this post! It will solve many problems

Posted by tfoote on 25 July 2012 - 11:54 PM in General

When I first got onto a server it was a hastle to create programs in the game. I prefer to use notepad ++. I have found a new program that enables users of the server to upload files to the server. Now This program is called HFS. This program would enable you to do many things on your server:
1) You can give each player a floppy. The floppy then has a folder. You can tell HFS to share that folder to a specific user online. (upload + download). This would enable the user of your server access to only their floppy. then they would have an easier time creating programs.
2) You can create usernames, passwords, and you can even restrict the ammount of space they can have.

I think this is a great tool for all servers. And there is no space limit (cuz its your computers hard drive) and you have a website, and it is so nice. So take a look into it!!!

If you have any question let me know.

local event, side = os.pullEvent("disk")
name = disk.getLabel(side)
if name == "CD Name" then
-- whatever you want if it is the correct CD
else
print("Wrong CD")
disk.eject(side)
-- Its really easy guys

#21356 TCMail - Successor to ComputerCraft eMail

I haven't truly messed around with repeater programs yet. I believe the issue is that the server records the ID of the sending computer when it receives a message, thus rendering repeater computers useless, unless there is a way to spoof the ID of another computer. I can try messing around with having the server listen for an ID message instead of using the actual ID, and having the client send the ID in a rednet broadcast. Could take a couple days though. If I get it working, I'll upload the relay program as well.

As to your question about the cables; There has to be a direct connection between a computer and the server.

Repeter programs are quite easy. I have it so my e-mails get computer handled many times. you don't loose any data and it works great. you just make it so that when it comes in, it goes out

I like the E-Mail, the server crashes sometimes, idk why.
The way it is going to be coded, is this... When it starts you have the option to have it automatically start where it left off... this makes it so that if it crashes, gets re-started or something... it just keeps on going. Also the previous version had 4 programs. they are all 1 now. After testing it on 1 server. I decided to change it for people who use servers. I hope everyone enjoys!
