#138733 What is the editor you use?

Posted by Mendax on 07 August 2013 - 04:12 PM in General

Why is there no button for medit? It's better than any text editor I've used, it has an integrated terminal and file tree, syntax highlighting for a lot of languages and it isn't Sublime Text 2!

(People, I'm a goat, not a sheep)

#121106 [OS] ShadOS v1.2 [60% Finished]

Thank you Lyqyd, though quoting seems nonfunctional while on my mobile.

#120780 [OS] ShadOS v1.2 [60% Finished]

Posted by Mendax on 25 May 2013 - 10:41 PM in Operating Systems

Well, I just discovered v1.2 on this computer while doing some cleaning.
I have no idea how buggy or beta it is, or if it will even run at the moment. Enjoy.
P.S.
Would an admin please move this to the 'Operating Systems' forum?

EDIT: Just noticed I didn't edit the title.

#109017 Goodbye o/

Posted by Mendax on 11 April 2013 - 08:27 PM in General

Well, I guess it's about time. I've lost all my drive and interest for ComputerCraft that I had had for over a year. As I write this I am crying- that is how I feel about the community, and my times here.
My first door lock, then the OS... BlackWolf, then I hosted my own server. It's been a good year (and a bit) guys. I wish you luck.

To the admins:
Enjoy your domain.

To Shnupbups100:
Thank you for being a great friend. I will contact you in due time.

To my good friends 1lann and GravityScore:
Good luck, with what ever you're doing now, and in the future. I find it amazing that two people have worked on so many projects and programs together without fighting, that requires patience and tolerance that few people (including me) have.

To TheOriginalBIT:
Thank you for being such a great guy. I hope you continue to be so helpful.

To imgoodisher:
Good luck with Googol, I hope it expands and is successful.

To ikkeniet:
Restart BlackWolf for me, and for the community, as there are no good servers left.

To everyone I've met along the way:
It's been a great year. Have fun, do well.

Goodbye.
Everyone that I feel should be will be contacted in due time.

P.S. Admins, please don't do anything to my account, I might come back.

Goodbye everyone, it's been a great year.

#105803 SKServer needs your input!

Posted by Mendax on 03 April 2013 - 10:49 PM in General

So, as some of you may know, I run a server, called SKServer, meaning ShadowKat Server (ShadowKat Studios being my 'company').

Currently, the server is undergoing some... reform I suppose. There were some issues last month to do with internet caps. Sadly, I can only run the server on weekends. Anyway, that means that I want to know what the community wants, the community including you.

So, kindly vote and I'll see you on there every weekend. :)

Anything extra goes underneath :)

#102840 What Texture pack are you guys using?

Painterly all the way :D

#101816 [1.5] Os Minedows 7 MicroCorp

Posted by Mendax on 25 March 2013 - 08:28 PM in Operating Systems

Though this isn't the most amazing peice of code I have ever seen, it's a decent start. Though the term OS is overused, it's a good starting point. I made two at some point.

Good luck :D

Give us one weekend, and you can join the Survival version of ComputerCraft University! We have the server set up, just waiting for the custom BIOS to be written.
It was survival wasn't it? o.O Also, the custom BIOS could be classified as malware, and why is it necessary if it's actually open and you can build?
CCUMain is not survival.
How is Lochie's custom BIOS malware? Why does it matter, seeing as it's not being posted?
The BIOS will (hopefully) prevent rednet spam and other exploits.
I'm aware you're trying to fix security holes. Will it change anything but that?
Malware is any software that the user does not want on their computer.
Having said that, *delete* *delete* *delete* I need to clean my computer out more often

I want to rejoin the community after my long hiatus, but there seems to be no good servers. :(
Can anyone post a decent server without too many mods installed?

EDIT: 100th post, FTW
I have a server, what's wrong with it? D:

ill try joining, but i like to stick to just computercraft and redpower if I feel like it

EDIT: outdated server, cant install mods.
We should be able to update soon, waiting for mods.

#100940 What is the editor you use?

Posted by Mendax on 24 March 2013 - 04:09 AM in General

> write file
print "Hello, world!"
;

As much as I hate FORTH, it has an easy to write editor.

Posted by Mendax on 23 March 2013 - 09:28 PM in Peripherals and Turtle Upgrades

Nice, but I have a suggestion. Make it possible to use Universal Electricity electricity to run your peripherals, as I have Universal Electricity, not IC2/BC (Blergh) on my server.

#95995 [Open Source] PearOS (Preview 2) - OS X Inspired OS

Posted by Mendax on 11 March 2013 - 06:12 PM in Operating Systems

It looks great and functions well, but I agree with Lyqyd, this basically is a prettified version of LyqydOS (I am aware this is your own code. However, it functions quite a bit like LyqydOS, but with custom programs.). I do like this, and I would make some programs for it if I had time. Anyway, good luck.

#94377 which programming language's syntax do you like the best?

Posted by Mendax on 08 March 2013 - 06:41 AM in General

I'm going to say the neutral thing and go with Python.
I don't like Objective-C (especially), or Java, or C#.
def pythonIsAwesome():
 if pythonIsAwesome == true:
  print "Python is awesome!"

No end statement! :D

#94374 Redpower Computers

Posted by Mendax on 08 March 2013 - 06:20 AM in General

We mostly use ComputerCraft computers, hoewever I did set up CC/RP2 communication at one point.

FYI: Last thread about RP2 computers started a flame war IIRC o.O

#93722 King of the Hill

Posted by Mendax on 05 March 2013 - 09:13 PM in Forum Games

I sneak up behind amtra5, hit them in the back of the head with a stick. I then roll them down the hill.

I then set up a command block hooked up to an infinite redstone clock.

tp @a 9999 70 -9999

I then sit down and activate the clock.

Hm, looks fun...

Flies shuttle carrier into vicinity and drops the shuttle onto an unsuspecting Kryptanyte.
Parachutes into the chair.

#93358 Test Windows 1.0.12 for Developers

Posted by Mendax on 04 March 2013 - 06:45 PM in Programs

Windows itself is regarded as unreliable, and I know people who actively avoid Windows (including me!), that and the legality would possibly be a pain, but considering this is a program for a computer in a game running on a computer, I don't think it will be that much of a problem.

#92528 Googol - More Than Just a Search Engine

Posted by Mendax on 02 March 2013 - 01:08 AM in Programs

Nice! Good to see it finished! I'm just working on some stuff of my own at the moment. :)

#92526 Applications/Advice Needed - Object Oriented Window Based Multitasking OS

Posted by Mendax on 01 March 2013 - 10:22 PM in Operating Systems

'Mac OS is widely regarded as the easiest OS to use...' Ahem, Mac user, the majority would say that Windows is easiest to use, though I run Linux and find Windows and Mac both absurd.

Anywho, you did a great job on this. It looks great! :D
Will it be Open-Source? I would certainly like a look at the code...
