#67387 Redpower2 FrameElevator powered by CC (of course) (gasp Selkitty's still...

Posted by Selkitty on 01 January 2013 - 08:02 PM in Media

Woah woah.. Chill out folks, be polite or dont post please. ^^;

@Grabie2 One of my first automated hangar door systems used rp2 control because I didnt have cc http access on the server it was built on and didnt feel like writing all the code in the cc console; little did I realize that even though the lines were shorter it was just as much of a pain lol (this was back on a tekkit server.) the door did nothing intresting other than slide down then sideways to open a giant hole but it was a learning step in what eventually lead to this build. I built this version in CC because frankly <3 CC > RP2Controll (and also because I own the server and http was the first thing I turned on <.<) Once I learn more about redpower frames though I hope to make an omni directional vehicle. Though I noticed an issue with standing inside frames while they move (which can be seen at the end of the vid) so Not entirely sure how that'll work... perhaps minecarts or something... Iduno. the end result I want to achieve is a sort of compact version of Direwolf20's RP2Frame-mining platform (no extendy bits but it doesnt have to worry about mountians exct) also space inside for passengers

@BigSHinyToy

The darkness is on purpose, its supposed to give a sort of dungeon-y feel to 'intimidate any unlucky soul who happens to stumble upon and manage to activate it gaining acess to my lab' (I would remove the water above the lava in the hole the little bridge goes over but I'd have to replace all that wool lol) x3 as for a behind the scenes... the WHOLE thing is really messy. I turned on creative mode and mainly just screwed around with redpower cabeling and then cc untill it worked XD but I suppose if theres enough call for it I might do a behind the scenes tour of my noobish work ^^;

@grabie2

Thanks! when I was writing the code I was to impatient to go test and figure out what the timing was XD .5 broke things instantly, 1 seemed to work then suddenly stopped and 2 was just slow but it worked lol

The video doesn't show off the juicy bits of the construction, because the whole thing is terribly messy and inefficient, but it does show the concept in a functional state on a multiplayer 1.4.6 server.

Also, yes I'm still alive :o

and when your gone I'll be... Still alive...

To those interested the server is the newly created HazardCorps minecraft server, Our group is mainly an APB:R clan but we do play other games (of course) minecraft being one.

While we're not against people joining the server, it is not public for various reasons.

Invites are sent to people we know and/or have actually gamed with.

This is interesting indeed! Having minecraft installed and having to run it are two very different things, the latter which my poor netbook can actually handle. I cant wait to check this out ! (waiting for CC to catch up with minecraft x3)

#28311 Steam Community- Computercraft Group In Steam

Not going to debate the merits of using Steam, the group's for people who use steam to connect to other ComputerCraft users ^^

On a side note... Wow I never expected as many people as there are to join a group I just set up on a whim XD

#8943 New! Computercraft Livestream Chanel

Cool, but when I went on it was just someone modding Minecraft, nothing to do with computer craft.

For the most part the stream isnt live and runs on autopilot also I'm sure if there was modding being done it was CC related (if your talking about the clip I think you are, thats part of an addon for CC)

(also I realize I could have combined these three posts into one but I'm still half asleep)

Hey, I believe I've been working on some impressive Lua code. I'd love to stream me bugtesting with turtles, because whenever something goes wrong it REALLY goes wrong and usually ends up doing something hilariously destructive. Plus, I'd love to show off the functionality of the application I'm writing without releasing the source quite yet (once it's released it will be released under the 4 Clause BSD License). I have 100 MBPS up and down, plus a server running on that connection (robobonobo.com, MC 1.2.3, Buildcraft, CC), which the MC server operates on FBSD.

Anywho, I'd love to show off some of the cool things you can do in Lua for CC as a programmer, as well as being willing to take requests ("how do you do x in Lua for turtles?", etc.).

If you want to use my time you can contact me on the IRC network I reside upon, i.e., Freenode, I'm typically in #freebsd, #lua, #c, #python, #web, and #minecraft. My name therein is "jairavax."

If you need an e-mail try contacting me at [email protected].

I'm sure if you take the time to contact me you'll love what I stream.

Hello, bonobot please add your livestream username to your post (or if its the same as your irc name specify that)
also we'll need you to keep an eye on EsperNet #computercraft and #comptuercraftlivestream (the latter is for the stream itself)

#8939 New! Computercraft Livestream Chanel

Posted by Selkitty on 11 April 2012 - 04:28 PM in Media

Wow really sorry about the lack of responses guys! ^^; When minecraft started updating like crazy again I took a short hiatus because I hate having to rebuild the minecraft every time I open it XD

New changes soon to be made to the stream: I'm going to take some advice from... not sure who was a while back, and close off the current channel and move it to its own account. Then I'll give the login details to key 'admins' so that I'm not the only person with the ability to add people.
So to those who have posted an app: Sorry for the wait, please bare with us a little longer and we'll get things set up properly

Edit: Account is set up, we'll begin adding video soon! first we have to download the current videos from the current channel then the current channel must be removed as it cannot be renamed

I swear if I knew anything about coding I'd make one myself, but realy we do have so many brilliant programmers out there! and I'm sure they themselves could see a use for such a thing :x

Very intresting :o/>

Now we need Fuzzy to fix the portable redworks and get a version of this pointed at that!

You mean wait for Yuno to update chroot, or Put Redworks 1.21 under the old chroot system?

whatever makes it work and compatible with all of the programs XD

Are you making spotlights of APIs/peripherals?

Possibly

Apis will be mainly up to streamers who know actualy how to use them
and we have a prefrial developer currently on the team so spotlights for those are likely ^^

#1359 New! Computercraft Livestream Chanel

Posted by Selkitty on 25 February 2012 - 07:35 AM in Media

http://livestream.com/computercraft

We now have an IRC channel for team members to organize events and such: #comptuercraftlivestream

The new unofficial (official if Dan200 approves) computercraft channel!
This channel will be purely related to ComputerCraft with things from simple gameplay, to coding inside and outside of CC

Current Streamers:
  • Selkitty
  • CravingPine
  • Fuzzypurp
  • alex_ (The skeetches)
If you wish to join the team:
  • Please have a decent Internet connection
  • Be able to stream COMPUTERCRAFT related content
  • Have a LiveStream account
  • be able to chat on the Computercraft IRC channel and be regestered with NickServ
  • be an active member of this forum!
How to join? Contact Selkitty via forum PM
Post here in the forum! With the information requested below.
The whole team will review posts before Team acess is given.

Information Required:
  • Livestream Name
  • IRC Name (Must be regestered with NickServ! use "/nickserv help" if you dont know how to do that)
  • (Forum name is already part of the PM so dont worry about that)
  • Type of content for Streaming (example: In-Game content, In-Game Coding, Out-of-Game Coding)
Mixes of content types are fine just remember this is the COMPUTERCRAFT livestream channel other mods are welcome in the video but its not a LP or spotlight for them. Content with computercraft working with other mods is also very welcome (BC,TC2,RP2, exct)

(will update as more info comes to be posted)

If "approval of official status" == true then
pleaseSticky()

#1343 Strange Request...

Posted by Selkitty on 25 February 2012 - 02:54 AM in General

I dont really know much about coding things, but I do dabble in lua for CC. However I find when I want to mess around with scripts is usually when I'm on my netbook (which cant run minecraft) and dont have a lot else to do XD

The Challenge: An out of game CC emulator, that runs the lua scripts the same way as CC does in game, with a similar interface. Hopefully something that will run on a computer that minecraft wont run on so that we can work on scripts without access to minecraft

That's not currently possible. This is another good idea, but I want to get dependencies and some other things released first.
Understandable ^^ my program's a bit crude by most standards but if you'd like to see how I did it the program itself is up on cc-get ^^

(Feel free to rip/mutilate/otherwise render obsolete)

#1314 [1.3] Cc-Get 0.1.1

Posted by Selkitty on 24 February 2012 - 09:46 PM in Programs

Is it possible to specify the directory where programs are installed to? previously I made a program that moved a specific downloaded file over to a floppy, but it'd be nice if you could do that right there inside cc-get. then we could have something like redworks floppy version right there in cc-get and download it directly to a floppy :)/>

would be interesting and certainly smaller if it were a peripheral but I think that would also take the challenge out of building it :x
