#270539 Tracking a Pocket computer on a (stationary) computer?

The turtle isn't used for anything but setup. You can do everything the turtle does by hand, if you like.

You will have to do some reverse engineering of the GPS program, as it would normally be used in the opposite direction - position would be displayed on the pocket computer. It's possible to do it the other way around, but it's not built-in.

I know what is the turtle's purpose, I am trying to do another thing. I don't want my computer to be placed so it does track -- that why I use pocket computers, but I think I have gone too far in explanations.

Okay, thanks for the tip for reversing the gps program I will try it out right now.

You can do this if you have 4 stationary computers. 1 isn't going to cut it.

You have to set up a GPS cluster. It uses trilateration to find the signal based on distance and the computers coordinates themselves.

The easiest way to setup a GPS cluster would be to use Lyqyd's Project Builder or GPS Deploy. Shameless plug: if you choose to go with GPS Deploy, you might want to grab the latest community updated version - it has quite a few fixes and tweaks.
Guys, first of all, I wanted to try locating the pocket computer's co-ordinates on the pc, I mean, real-time co-ordinates of the pocket pc shown on the pc
Second, I said pocket pc. I tried everything I can do to run these two TURTLE programs but no luck.

#270529 [WIP] TrainManager

Yet another train program by me, after a few days of work there it is!
Have you ever travelled with a train? Probably yes.
So if you want to kinda-recreate this experience - you can do it!
TrainManager has a few programs in it: "ScheduleBoards", "TicketSale Lite", "Train Schedule for Ticket Sellers" and
"TrainRegister for ScheduleBoards". All that in just 1 installer!

Hello! I am trying to finish my program I started yesterday, but I can't make the last script. All I want is the stationary computer to be able to track the X, Y, Z co-ordinates of a pocket computer wirelessly. I can't seem to make it. And please, don't send me direct code. I want to learn and combine the program myself, just send me tips so I can know what to do.

#270497 How to make a schedule manager (over a wired network)

The easy way to communicate is rednet. The wiki has information about this and there are several tutorials about it.

Good luck!
TY so much!

#270494 How to make a schedule manager (over a wired network)

Posted by DimitarBogdanov on 21 September 2017 - 01:26 PM in Ask a Pro

Okay, I am trying to make another train program (if you have seen me before you will know I do only train programs) which will have a manager (a GUI, I will make it myself). My question is, how do you send a message over a wired network, the other computer receives it and reads it to know: 1) if it should add some text to a monitor 2) if it should delete already existing message that is put on a monitor.
The message will contain the message itself AND the computer id. Then the receiver (the computer that receives the message) will ask the user using it on which monitor should the message go (with the message shown)
P.S. I am a noob at programming, so please don't send me code, I wanna do stuff myself, just send me some tips how can this happen. Thanks in advance (actually if you want to send me code, do it, I can't force you to do anything)

#268430 The Ban Game 2.0

>> Original game <<

Ok, so in this game you have to find a reason to ban the person above you with time. Example:
Person 1:

Yo mama...
Person 2:

Banned for using an overused joke! Banned for: 10 days
Person 3:

Quote

Banned for banning for overused jokes! Banned for: 5 days

Person 4:

Quote

Banned for banning for banning overused jokes AND abusing powers! Banned for: 7 days

(Maximum ban time is 15 days)

I'll start.

Hello again!
Just an update, TrainOS Alpha 0.0.2 is going to be released the next weekend (5.3.2017 (D/M/YYYY)!
It will have some graphical updates. BUT! IT WONT'T BE SOMETHING BIG!

Most of what makes it into our "OS" section tends to fall more into "menu system" territory anyway, but yes, this is a bit further afield than usual. Moved.
Thanks.

BTW I just added an banner :D

But one thing: I didn't see any button for equip. Can someone show me where it is (if it exist) or just try to make it.
Thanks!

Hello, guys! Do you love trains? If so, you need stations!
But on IRL train stations we see electronics everywhere, right?
Why not have it in ComputerCraft? I have made a small program
that will help you reaching your goal: ComputerCraft train indicator!
Now seriously, the TrainOS 0.0.2 will help you to show the passengers
is there a train here or not. Maybe put a monitor in the waiting room and
connect it using wired modem to a computer that shows the information?
Here's how to do it:
For example, we have this setup:
Spoiler

So if a redstone signal comes from the LEFT (VERY IMPORTANT!!!) the monitor will show up "The train is boarding". When there's no signal it will show: "The train is not here".
You may use Indicator Rails to send redstone signal.

Configuration
Spoiler
Installation:
pastebin get XNazPhwf train
OLD:
Spoiler
Using the TrainOS on a monitor:
monitor left/right/front/top train
Replace left/right/front/top with the side monitor is on.
Using the TrainOS on a monitor connected using wired modem.
1. Make sure the monitor's modem have a RED colour. You will see the id of the monitor in the chat (monitor_ID was connected to the network)
monitor monitor_ID train
Replace ID with the number of the monitor in the chat.

#264499 How to use programs using wired modems on monitors

Posted by DimitarBogdanov on 06 February 2017 - 10:50 AM in Ask a Pro

So I have a basic train system (gets redstone signal from indicator rail and shows text on a monitor.) But my question is:
How can I use the wired modem to show that program (named train) on a monitor?
Ex: I have a monitor connected to my computer using wired modem. How I run programs on the monitor?
