Nice :D

"Yet another attempt at ComputerCraft University..." - probably this is what many people think right now, but it's certainly not me!

I was here for CCU1 and CCU2, and, honestly, I don't think it'll work, but I'll teach a class either way. Maybe we'll finally have a regular schedule.

Don't remember anyone with a username "Zee" being a teacher in CCU2, though. Also, schedules in CCU2 were made by teachers them selves.

Also, about CCU and CCU2 fails, there were classes, more in CCU, but in CCU2 there had been a few classes by Zambonie too, I recorded almost all of his classes, still have those videos. In CCU2, the plan was to record every class and put them on YouTube for others to watch and learn.

I would be glad to help the server. Send me a PM if you need a coder or a builder!

~LEGO

I wasn't Zee during CCU2, and I wasn't a teacher.
I was a student.

Maybe this time we'll finally be successful.

Maybe, you could call it *puts sunglasses on* Minix. (I know that Minix is an OS IRL, I was just making a pun)

#160301 GameAPI

Posted by Zee on 11 January 2014 - 06:18 PM in APIs and Utilities

I just looked at the code for the API again and noticed that it's a local function. *facepalm*

Thanks for responding.

#159429 GameAPI

Posted by Zee on 05 January 2014 - 07:49 PM in APIs and Utilities

Why do you use
 shell.run("gameapi")
instead of
os.loadAPI("gameapi")
gameapi.install()

EDIT: fix code

#159223 which programming language's syntax do you like the best?

Posted by Zee on 04 January 2014 - 07:50 AM in General

Personally, I don't have a "favorite" language overall, but I do have favorite languages in different categories.

Simplicity - Lua
Cross-platform - Java
Joke - Visual Basic .NET
LISP-based - Logo

I still want to learn more about: Brainfuck, C, C++, C#, Objective-C, Perl, Python, Ruby, Squirrel.
I know basic syntax for a lot of these but not much else.

#145208 How Did You Learn How To Code?

Posted by Zee on 16 September 2013 - 01:09 PM in General

I started a while ago with Logo (when I was like 7). When I was ~8 I tried to learn VB, but I never *really* understood it. In 2012 I learned a little Python. In January of this year (2013 for time travelers) I started programming in ComputerCraft. I now use LÖVE and Garry's Mod Lua in addition to ComputerCraft. I'm also trying to learn Java. At some point I learnt a bit of C++.

#145155 LÖVE - 0.9.0 released!

Posted by Zee on 16 September 2013 - 02:26 AM in General

I heard about this ~1 month ago. I haven't made any games for it yet (simply because I don't know what to make) but I have researched the engine enough to be working on an logging library. This library will include log-to-file support when I'm done.

Edit:

Don't forget that they're working on support for other systems:
Webplayer
Android
μLÖVE (targeted for extremely low-power systems, like the Dingoo)

How about an XML parser? (I'm actually trying to work on this now.)

Seems epic. Stupid question, but will I be able to try and run this on my Android after porting the code?

It seems that a few people made roms for android devices... Google it.

And they released the ZTE Open! It's only in orange though. I'm going to wait for blue. (As you probably can tell, it's my favorite color.)

I think FirefoxOS is fine but you need a internet connection permanent. It's very hard with 300 megabytes of traffic per month like I have. But you can test it out if you have Firefox.

There is a Firefox addon called "Firefox OS Simulator": https://addons.mozil...x-os-simulator/

Just install it, goto Extras, Web-Developer, Firefox OS Simulator

Best regards,
kornichen

Firefox OS has cached apps. Anyway, the way I'm going to use it, is connect to my dumb phone using Bluetooth. It's a prepaid Tracfone, so I'm going to blow through minutes if I use data. So it's only going to be for calls, and I'll connect to WiFi when I want to download something.

Actually, I think I'll learn C++ so I can port it to my Galaxy Player 5.0. It will be a learning experience. :P

Pardons.

Someone needs to make a C++ compiler.
