Hey everyone, Welcome to the Beta Testing thread for ComputerCraft and ComputerCraftEdu 1.79!
Please test every feature you can think of, and file bug reports for every bug that you find. I'm using GitHub for bug reports, see below for more info.

Downloads
  • ComputerCraft 1.79 has now been released!
Changelog
  • Ported ComputerCraftEdu to Minecraft 1.8.9
  • Fixed Computers and Monitors showing as white screens on old GPUs
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes
Bug Reports

For this round of Beta Testing, I'm using GitHub for bug reports. If you find a bug, please visit https://github.com/d...terCraft/issues to report it. Please tag each bug report with the version of ComputerCraft you found it in, and with [ComputerCraftEdu] if the bug only affects ComputerCraftEdu.

As always, please include screenshots or crash logs with your report if applicable. All bugs are valid to report, including ones already present in previous versions of ComputerCraft. If the use of GitHub for bug reports goes well, I may switch all ComputerCraft bug reporting to this system in the future.

Happy testing!

Could be a stupid question but is there any mod for 1.8.9 that includes bundled cables that is made work with CC? So that aspect of it can be reliably tested?

I have a 1.8.9 dev build of Computronics that adds CC support for Charset Wires. That's how I found the bug. So far it's the only implementation of CC bundled redstone on 1.8.9 I know.

Updated the OP: ComputerCraftEdu is now also available for testing! This is the first version of ComputerCraftEdu for Minecraft 1.8.9, so will need some quite thorough testing to be sure all the bugs are out. Are you up to the challenge?

You could consider making a bundled cable mod, so now most CC users use the same and that doesn't break world downloads.

At a guess this is an April fools as it doesn't appear in the rom/help/changelog file. The only Lua changes are the fixes to this and this bug.
