Wiki Edit Privileges

Cloudy's Photo Cloudy 11 Dec 2012

Hello!

As you may (or may not) be aware, we have had a spam problem on the Wiki. Due to AfterLifeLochie's experience with the matter (he's a bit of an all round admin guru), he recommended having people request access, as nothing else seems to work to reduce spam - which I agreed with.

From now on (well, a few days ago actually!) if you want to edit the wiki, please post here with your username.

We are sorry that we have had to put into place this measure, but the spam problem was getting unmanageable!

Edit by BB: Privileges can not often be updated. If you have a small number of edits in mind, posting a thread with the details in this section may be a better option.

I create programming education materials, and just discovered ComputerCraft and love the use of turtles with Minecraft. This is much better than the mcpi Python module. I'd love to help out with the wiki. Thanks!

Every modpack I install has to have ComputerCraft or I won't play. I'm a programmer and now a server admin(as in remote access, not just /commands). I build stuff with turtles all the time, even integrating other mods (such as Carpenter's Blocks, but not the Forestry Woodworking stuff). I'm on the wiki all the time to figure out how to do what I want to do, but notice errors on the wiki that end up breaking my code (such as trying to get distance through the modem_message event on CC1.7+, or not knowing where to put the resource pack with my custom api), and would like to fix them.

modem_message events haven't changed - the process remains the same. rednet_message events were altered by CC1.6, but that's documented already.

Hey! I'm not sure if applications are still open, but I'd like to apply to edit. I want to document the speakers I added in pull 237. If it'd be preffered that I post the info relating to it in the forum itself, I can do this too. My username is Restioson.
