So yeah, how did you hear about CC? From a YouTuber (I found CC from SethBling), and if so, who? Did you see it in a modpack, and if so, what pack? Did you just find it on the Minecraft forums? I'd love to know.

Note to mods: I've tried to search for this, but it was hard, considering that the words are pretty common.

I used some computers in Tekkit (the one that is now known as Tekkit Classic). So I wondered what mod they were from because I thought they were pretty cool, found out it was ComputerCraft and downloaded it.

On the Minecraft Forums, a server ad for Mort's CC Server, I'm sure at least a few people still remember that server.

Heard rumors about it from some of my old friends on servers and decided to check it out...

I was messing around with various mods (including e.g. zeppelin, unbelievable shaders,...). One of them was CC, I was not very familiar with programming at that time and this was so.. so.. awesome! :D I was basically just a user that downloaded code from others (remember WolfOS? :D) but it supported me in programming and so I carried it on.. (I learned a lot and started to do some real programming, unity, c#, Unreal Engine...)

Found it when me and a group of friends used to play Tekkit together. This was when Tekkit was the modpack for Minecraft.

YouTube threw me some recommendations according to my searches about Minecraft, Modding and programming. It was WolfOS (WolfOS FTW! :D) or a CC tutorial, which was a pretty good one, although I don't remember who was the uploader he taught me to use locals (badly remembered quote: '..don't ask why you should use "local" just do it...').

Getting a little off topic

To be quite honest I can't fully remember when I first heard of it.

But I think I recall hearing about it early 2012, but the first time I remember really using it was on a Tekkit server in the mid-2012 holidays. I set up this security server with disks as keycard access. I actually tried to make a GUI OS at the same time, with 5 pressure plates as the mouse (in a + pattern). Needless to say it didn't really go anywhere.

I play a lot of FTB and I also watch all of Direwolf20's videos on YouTube. This is how I found out about this mod. At first, I played around with other people's programs. This was easy to do and I found it fun, but i then started to get nosey and wanted to see how the programs worked. This got me into learning the basics of LUA. Now, I spend about 2 Hours a day working on bits of code.

FTB Ultimate

EDIT: In fact, FTB is the only reason I got into minecraft. Vanilla MC really does nothing for me - it's the mods that make it interesting.
