Matthias notices the advance just too late. He manages to jump back a bit, but still is hit by the mace in his leg, knocking him to the ground.

Matthias holds his small shield to attempt to block any further attacks from Kotuluk while standing up on a very painful leg.

Bran the dwarf wakes up.

Lying in a ditch behind a certain inn, he's not feeling in the best of condition. However, "hungover" is one of two natural states for a dwarf, and he finds he's got enough within the skin buried in his pack to tip him back towards the other.

Having managed to align a state of "alertness" with "daylight hours", he totters to his feet. Recollection of a conversation overheard of an evening - perhaps a night ago, perhaps over a month, his perception of time is at this point murky - bubbles into his consciousness.

With the vague idea of adventure to be found, he bathes in a nearby stream (or at least scrapes the worst of the mud off), grills some locals for details about the recent goings-on of travellers, and sets off.

[OOC] You are charging the firestone? he asked for charge for the smaller stone on his axe. As it's a firestone I'll presume that you are lending it some fire magic. Edit: axestone, not firestone. [/OOC]

The axestone doesn't react at first, as if it is deciding whether to accept the charge or not. Then it glows a bit brighter then it normally does when fully charged, seams that you lent a bit too much magic, as the stone bursts into flame.

[OOC] Edit: Ninja'd by a dwarf? Nice to see you join Bomb Bloke, I'll try to get you to the party some way. [/OOC]

Yeah, I meant to charge the stone in his axe.
And with the info I have, its the only one here at this time. Where "the" came to place.
[/OOC]
"Well then, you might wanna stick that axe into zombie guy over there. Let him about that overflow."

[OOC] Lets get this dwarf moving, I'll say that you awoke at about the same time that the group encountered the wolf pack (about mid-morning). Which is probably back in time by about an hour or two. (I'm thinking it's late morning now, about 10AM)

To those in combat, keep going, I'll try to multi-task. [/OOC]

Unsure if it's his imagination on the human alcohol, or a spirit of the forest, Brannens Chalktapper hears his name being called from within the forest.

Matthias swings his axe towards Kotuluk and discharges the excess fire, to make sure he stays dead this time. He then gets up, still a little shaky because of his leg, and swings his axe towards a nearby zombie goblin.

Kotuluk falls in a blaze from Matthias' axe, never to rise again - hopefully. Meanwhile our friendly goblins charge at the not-so-friendly undead goblins.

"I suppose we're through with the worst of it for now..." Pulse directs some additional EMP at Matthias's firestone in hopes of charging it a bit more. "You know, I've been trying to learn a bit of melee myself."

"Erm, you sure about pooling more that stone... I hope it says no."
He casts up a magic sword, and frees Kotuluk's head from his body.
He then throws it at an undead goblin.

A flushing sound comes from a nearby room, as Nico comes from the same direction.
Brushing dust off of his belts, Nico looks around, "What have I missed?"

Matthias continues swinging towards goblins, burning them and chopping off their heads (the latter as suggested by Jacob). He then steps back and lets Pulse add the additional charge to the axe, hoping it will be as successful as Jacob's charge.

"You mean besides the undead goblins?" asks Matthias. "Well, I guess you missed that guy" pointing at Kotuluk, "but seeing as we killed him three times, you might get a chance to meet him to kill him a fourth time."

[OOC]I was wondering where Nico went. LOL[/OOC]

[OOC] Who would think that Pulse charging the stone could be so complicated. Pulse is not from this dimension/world/plane so his magic may be different, or it may not even be magic by the definitions of this world. How would the stone react to it? Edit: finally decided[/OOC]

The stone shines a bit brighter from Pulse's EMP but lack the red colour that it normally has when charged.

Meanwhile the friendly and undead goblins continue to fight.

"Alright Nico, lets bring you up to speed."
He then dusts himself off.
"Alright, well, the goblins that aren't dead, are on our side... ish...
Kotuluk was revived... twice... after his death meaning that this is Libitina's connection to our plane.
Which brings me to this."
He then looks to Matthias's stone.
"The color has changed, meaning the energy in the stone is... different... The power it now has is unknowable until we see it but...
I'm afraid it might be volatile... Matthias, may I see what has happened to it?"

Matthias notices the different color and moves his axe closer so Jacob may examine it. "It seems it accepted a different element than its usual fire. Must be whatever energy Pulse normally uses" he says.

[OOC]Electromagnet energy I assume, though Matthias would not likely know as Pulse has not mentioned it.[/OOC]
