If you just want to get the download, go to the bottom of this post.

What... Is... This...
This is a WIP platformer game. It is not near finished and there is quite a few annoying things about this version. there will also be many, many more things coming in the future.
Also, I'm coming up with a new name soon.

Why am I throwing this version out so early?
I want to see what people think of the overall concept.

Content:
As said above, this is still a VERY EARLY VERSION. This has very few features.

New in 1.0.00 (Alpha)
**Editor - Create and edit your maps easily! Use R-Click to open the menu.
**Lava (block) - Kills the player
**Wall (block) - Stops the player
**Gravity - Brings the player down when not on the ground.

New in 1.0.01 (Alpha)
**Graphic Improvements in:
- Editor
- Game
**Starting Area
**Finishing Area
**Improved Gravity
**Improved Jumping
**Improved Movement

Known Problems/Reporting Problems
This is a list that includes bugs and flaws with the current version.
- No outstanding ones yet. Please post down below what ones should be included here!

If you find a bug or have a suggestion, please post it down below!

Features Likely in the Next Version (1.0.02)
I mean, you have to have something to look forward to.
- Ladders (pushed to 1.0.02)
- Enemies? (AI) (pushed to 1.0.02)

**WARNINGS** PLEASE READ!
This program prefers a CLEAN workspace. This means a completely new computer. It should be noted that if a startup file exists, it will be renamed and replaced!

This program also uses an api that I made. This keeps the game/editor/etc code cleaner. You should note that this runs on computer startup.

Snapshots
Note: Art is going to change. If it looks ugly now then forgive me, this is still a work in progress!

Spoiler

Download
Download the installer by putting this into your computer:
pastebin run g01HD0A3

This will download the editor, game, textapi, and the sample level(s).

Haha. As I have said numerous times, it is still very early in development. I will likely switch over the editing system into colors like the actual game is.

In CC 1.74 (the latest version), there are key_up events which call every time a key is released. They would really help your platformer know when to stop moving the guy left or right. Also, if the guy's jump arc was a parabola, and jumped, say, two or three things high...that would be nice...

Thank you for your suggestions! These will be implemented in the next update. :)

Im just curious how to get the program to properly run. I am very interested in testing this out for myself and using it as a reference for my future code. someday I would like to develop something of this nature on my own.

I have succesfully downloaded the program from pastebin, and ran it to download the rest of the files. I assumed you ran the "game.lua" program, however it brings up this screen (welp, im too stupid to find the screenshot folder) Nonetheless it says this:

Name -- File -- Size
This PC -- game.lua -- 51x19
Sample1 -- sample1.lvl -- 51x19
Sample2 -- sample2.lvl -- 51x19

Am I perhaps entering the code incorrectly? Or do I need to set up 51x19 advanced monitors. If the monitors is the case, then I am confused even further. Because it would seem they wont connect after you make a 8x8.

Help would be lovely! <3

I just now realized that the part i have been getting to is just the game menu. But nevertheless im still stuck XD :(

I hate myself. I figured it out. Good work!

Inactivity Update:

I have been inactive due to some technical problems on my computer. Unfortunately I was forced to refresh my PC and am failing to gain access to some essential files to this game. A good example of some of my technical issues just happened a few seconds ago right here
