My issue:
I have a space station in one dimension and the command center in another. I want to communicate across dimensions, I have wireless redstone and iv been trying to find a way of sending ascci back and forth and having the computers interpret it automatically but all of the programs that iv tried have been out of date. Iv seen that there is a "ender modem" in the 1.8 version of the mod but I'm working with a 1.7.10 server with mods and a few users. If there is something like the ender modem for 1.7.10 users Id love to know about it.

What im looking for:
A program that turns ascci into redstone pulses and turns incoming ascci pulses into text.
AND/OR
A mod that adds some way to communicate across dimensions.

Have you considered writing messages into text files on disks and passing the disks back and forth, perhaps via an ender chest?

Haven't someone actually done this? I remember seeing it in programs or something, it was a long time ago, but I'll try to find it.

I have, I like the idea of messages more than a drop box system, good idea, it would definitely work just not he lore-friendly system i was looking for.

Well it's not entirely hard to code up a solution to do what you want, but as Lyqyd said, there's probably a better option.

Edit:

I'm pretty sure that it was by KoGY, however it relied on a false premise, and as such it can only be truly achieved with creative mode disks since they share data. At least what I'm assuming you're talking about is the inter-dimensional disk rednet thing.

Hmm.. Yeah that may be the thing I'm thinking about, but it could still be of help.

This may serve as inspiration if you decide to use the wireless redstone. http://minecraft.gam...rials/Telegraph

if you are not willing/able to develop this yourself then suggest it on the idea exchange http://www.computerc...-idea-exchange/
